Rear Suspension Installation

Tools Needed:
18mm Socket
18mm Combo wrench
Ratchet
Extension

Preparation:

Jack up the rear of the vehicle and place on jack stands in front of the rear LCA frame brackets.

Remove the tires.

Unbolt the rear anti-sway bar from the frame with an 18mm socket. You will reuse the factory bolts.

Remove the rear shocks with an 18mm socket and combo wrench on the bottom bolt and a 18mm Socket and extension for the top bar pin.

Lower the rear axle and remove the springs. Watch the brake line on the rear axle, it will become taunt. I did not remove the jack from under the axle, I supported the axle with the Jack.

Remove the factory spring isolator. If it does not come out with the spring.

Installation:

Remove the spring clip and top ring from the air springs.

Place the air spring over the lower spring pad on the axle. The stud will go through the hole in the spring pad.

Take the ½” stick nut and slide it between the axle and the lower spring pad. You will screw the air spring into this. Once you get the spring started, you may need to bend the tab on the nut to allow the spring to completely seat itself against the lower spring pad. Make certain that the spring and nut are tight.

Slide the top ring for the air spring into the depression on top of the upper spring pad.

Lift the axle and guide the air spring into the hole in the upper spring pad and into the top ring from the air spring. Seat the air spring against the spring pad.

Insert the spring clip through the hole in the air spring to secure it in place.

Lower the axle and install the adaptor plate between the rear anti-sway bar mount and the frame. Reinstall the factory bolts with an 18mm socket and extension

Install the rear shocks

Size Comparison

Lift the top of the shock up and install the two bolts through the bar pin to secure it to the upper shock mount. This requires an 18mm socket and extension

Install the lower bolt through the bushings. The shock is pressurized so getting it into the lower mount can be a chore. This requires an 18mm socket and combo wrench,

Install the rear axle breather extension.

Rotate and pull up on the factory breather line. Insert the breather extension between the axle and the factory line.
